I recently (meaning 10 minutes ago) solved an issue with my browsers.

I tried loading Youtube about an hour ago. It connected quickly to the server, showed me a blank page with the correct title (YouTube - <accountname>'s YouTube>, Firefox 3.5 showed it was busy loading but nothing happened.
After a few more tries, I switched to Internet Explorer 8, which I recently updated to, no go there either; now, I didn't install IE8 when it came out since FF3.5 is my primary browser.

I Googled around a bit, a number of similar complaints on various boards (usually not a bad sign). When I tried reading some of the search results, the same bug stung me, it gave me a blank page and infinite loading. Turning add-ons for FF3.5 on and off didn't do anything, nor did networked safe-mode.
I remembered IE8 and FF3.5 have about 0 in common so it had to be either connection-related or some 3rd party application not doing something it should or doing something it shouldn't. The first thing that came to mind was java, maybe with the updates, I missed a new java.

I surfed to the download site for Java. Turns out I had version 6.13 and there was a 6.14 available. I downloaded, installed, checked youtube and almost precisely after I typed youtube.com and released my enter key the page had loaded. Problem solved!

I had trouble with chessforums for a day or two. Would not open. Message on Safari server is down or not located.
Now it appears Chesslive.de (The Chessbase website) is not available.
I have to wonder if North Korea is hitting websites with a virus.
Russbase is down, possibly for malware by the website. Google shut it down.
One page may open. But the archive is locked. Russbase never responded to my inquiry about the malware problem.
On my Intel Mac I have the latest Norton's for Macintosh even though there are not any viruses for Macintosh. An insurance policy for a just in case.
On the Windows side of the Intel Mac, Kasparov has been installed.
I have been posting warning messages about security problems on software,
browsers and websites. Firefox, and Adobe have had problems, which I did not post. Waiting for information on the fixes, then I will post.

Hmm.. I had trouble with CF a while back, though eventually a message came up saying the server's harddrive had crashed.

Kaspersky correct. In Vista on a Mac, you do not see the Virus Protector.
It is called a tool. The program is a virtual Windows. More Windows than virtual and very fast. The older product was Virtual Windows by Microsoft and was slow. I have been running Windows on a Mac since 1995. The older first software crashed. Virtual Windows by a software developer worked by slow. Parallels the new software is fast. I run Chess Base, Fritz 11, and Software libraries on Lasker, Tal, and Steinitz (the best one). Steinitz is actually a library of Steinitz's books, and games. On a Mac it has audio.
