Rubik's Cube: who plays it here?
Hey all. Who plays the 3x3x3 cube here? D: What method do you use and your average? :3
I use the Fridrich CFOP Method, and I average about 35-37 seconds. My standard deviation is quite high though. But nowadays 30s+ are common for me. It's still quite slow though. I need to improve on my F2L on looking ahead. I'm almost done memorising the Orientation algorithms, although i forgot some.
So, what plays it? D:

I can solve 1 side, but I can't even solve the whole thing! I'm just learning the method, though.

In that case, go for the beginner's method. It's where most people initially learned how to solve it, though it was different for me (my 1st few solves was with the Petrus method, in fact i used it for several months before moving to Fridrich).
Google up Jessica's Beginner method or search for the user pogobat in youtube. That should get you going ^^.

25 years ago I used to be able to solve it in less than a minute. I forget the exact seconds my personal best was but I wanna say 18 seconds. Now I can barely figure out one side. I dont think the method systems had names back then.

I was never able to solve more than two sides. The two that I solved would get screwed up if I tried to solve another!
I did know how to make dots on all six faces and dots on four faces. I could do alot of checker board variations.
The only way I could "solve" it was to take it apart and put it back together again. But that's OK, I needed to take it apart to use petrolium jelly and lubricate it anyhow.
Back then you had to be really smart to figure it out. Today you just have to memorize some pattern.
