The Chronos will display move numbers if you want it to, I believe.

I'm not sure about the move numbers, but I really find it hard to believe that the Chronos wouldn't handle that.

I do agree that they're fairly blocky looking, though. They're the tanks of chess clocks. The black ones with black buttons are kinda cool looking, though. All black and blocky looking like that, it looks like the chess clock Darth Vader would use. ("I find your lack of pawns disturbing.")

There is a special mode which shows your move number in the Chronos clock. Also it can adjust the time after first 40 moves automatically. But I am always suspicious to this mode. Some players tend to make mistakes when clicking buttons without the actual move.

My Chronos has modes that will keep track of move numbers. And in terms of aesthetics I think chronos clocks are the perfect mixture of form and function.
