Najdorf for me. Funny because that has been my favorite opening since I learned openings as a kid and its almost completely responsible for my unhealthy love affair with the sicilian for both colors.
From my knowledge the later Fischer destroyed the Dragon Variation.
As well the Najdorf variation. The Soviets on three boards against Argentina won three games the same way against the Najdorf.
Tal announced to the World in 1960 that he would open with P-K4, (in today's world e2-e4). Botvinnik in that tournament went with the French Defence.
In the Return Match there were a slew of Caro-Kanns.
Fischer beat a lot of people with a lot of openings, but I hope I am misreading that last post and your not under the impression Fischer refuted either the dragon, or the najdorf (his main line as black against e4)
Very cool! I got the English Opening - which is actually close to my temprament - I play 1.d4 instead simply because I think it's a little more aggressive
