Sorry, the board was down hard there
When I bought the forums I left it on the existing hosting provider, which was a shared server and had plans to eventually move it to one of my own servers.
The hosting company began complaining that some process here was consuming all the CPU cycles on the server, then it seemed to go away.
When it came back, they basically just suspended the account, so we had to move in an impromptu and unannounced manner.
So I'm very sorry about this.
ChessForums now lives on one of my own servers so I have complete control over the environment.

Also, is it just me, or does the forum run a lot faster and smoother now?

I was concerned as well Stunt Pope. I even created a thread on OzChess to see if someone had more info to give on where Chess Forums went. Glad everything is back good as new.

Thank You Malbase. Jan van Reek is the annotator. (JvR) A Great Guy I think, who works very hard to share solid knowledge with the Chess Community for free. (Come to think of it, I should put a link on the homepage to JvR's site.)
PlanetChess is my hobby site which is why we do not allow advertising. (Still have my day job. ) Though I figure in another year it should really be filled out with free learning materials.
And Many more games By GM Akobian, with his comments.
Thank You Again.
