I'm down Demon.

I think a coorespondence tourny would be the best. You can set up torunaments to run automatically on - Queen Alice - for example (where I play).

I'd be happy to play a real time tourny too though (FICS is where I most often play). In my experience it's a lot more work to set up a real time tourny though with lots of people who use different servers who are in different time zones.

So I think we should start making a list of entries. Add 4 things: your handle, your rating (and from where), where do you play, and the time control you prefer.

For example:

I guess we'll let the list build up, and depending on how many players we get for a couple of weeks the kind of tournament we'll run. If it's a lot of us most likely swiss. If not I'll just make a round robin.

Recommendations : Correspondence tourny will be much easier to set up and run automatically. Any large scale tournament with many peoples in multiple time-zones using multiple real-time chess servers will probably never finish.

Time Control: G/60 sounds great to me.

I'd be up to that. Maybe we could get a feel for everyone's ratings or estimated ratings and have 'mini-tournies' with people in the same range. At gameknot I'm about 1400 which is probably around 1300 or 1250 FIDE.

A lot of sites support setting up independent tournies but they usually cost to join. I think gameknot is free but limits you to the number of games unless you subscribe but I'm sure there are free sites out there.

Are you joining? From the looks of it, this is not going to be correspondence, we rare going to do real time most likely G-60; so you will have to find some time to play during the week.

I need to know as I am making a list of everyone that puts their name in here so we can get parings ready.

Make that 1365 USCF. I had a bad weekend - 1 win, 3 losses, and a bye, but my opponents were all rated above me, so I didn't lose many rating points.

If possible, please e-mail me my pairings (catalystnarz@gmail.com) or PM is fine too (as that goes to my e-mail). I will arrange a time with my opponent. G-60 sounds ideal. I haven't played a game that long in years (besides correspondence) but I think any faster will significantly reduce the quality of the games.
