Couldn't log in
Over the weekend, I was staying at a hotel while playing in a chess tournament. They had a public computer, so I tried to log in here to post an update, but I couldn't log in. I put in my name and password, and it say "Thank you for logging in", but I still wasn't logged in. This was a Windows Vista PC, and I tried with both Internet Explorer (not sure of the version) and Mozilla 3. I was able to log in to other web sites from that PC (Yahoo mail, for instance), so I don't think it was Vista logging any sort of logins.
I'm not sure if this was just a problem over the weekend, or if it has something to do with Vista or something. I just got home, and I'm having no problems with my normal Win XP and Mozilla now.

The first I've heard of it. Very strange.. My laptop runs on XP and does fine on the forum in both IE6 (cancelled upgrade to IE7 after reinstalling windows) and FF3. Nothing I can do anything about though

I encounter a similar problem a lot. I'll log in, it will redirect me back to the home page, and I don't be logged in. Oddly enough, the solution to with problem was to ad "www." before "chessforums.org". I just set it to auto-login and always go to "www.chessforums.org," and I don't encounter this problem.
I always thought it was a Linux/Firefox thing, but this shouldn't be directly related to Linux, and Perseus is fine with Firefox.

That said, I never see auto-stickied first posts in the correspondence and puzzle sections in FF3 and IE7. IE6 doesn't have any problems in that area though.

Interesting. That may actually have been my problem. I might have left off the www without even thinking about it.

I've had problems too. I log in, then is says, thanks for logging in, it redirects me back to the main page, an I'm not logged in. Sometimes, when I got to a forum, it shows that I'm logged in, and other times it's dosen't.
