I was just thinking that it could be a great idea to integrate a Google Maps API into the forum. It could be used for all manner of things, like pinning the locations of chess clubs, chess stores, tournaments, museums and the database of chess parks that you're putting together in the sticky thread could be integrated too. It could also be used so that members of the forum could pin their own location on to it. (I had the idea when reading the "Where are you from" thread.) I'm sure that there are many other uses that it could be put to.

I know that Google Maps can work with PHP and an SQL database, so it probably wouldn't be too difficult to set up to use with the current Member Database, preventing non-members from using and abusing it. I'm not sure if there is anything like this currently available on any of the vBulletin modding sites, or if there is one that would work with this version of vBulletin, but it might be worth a look.

For all intense and purposes I beg to differ with the merits of this application on chessforums.org because we cater to a target audience or "niche" not looking for the navigational capabilities that this application provides.
