We can work out the details in private... I've never played the Ruy as White, I am more of a King's Gambit type.... but I am sure we can agree.
Basically, once a player asks for a rewind, that counts as a win. If a player is too stubborn to ask for a rewind, then the other side can ask for an adjudication, which counts as a win (if winning), and the other side is free to then rewind.
It of course requires something of a "Gentleman's Agreement" in playing. If someone can't leave his/her ego at the door (something required of all learning experiences, I think), then it just becomes an exercise in frustration.
