Hey SpaceChess, I couldn't figure out how to register on your forum as everything is in German. Anyhow, our move is 2. d4

There's plenty of ways to translate web pages into different languages. Google Translate, Yahoo Babelfish, SDL, AlterVista, etc.
Anyhoo, from what little I know of the Pirc, the candidate moves for Black are Nf6, g6, b6, or Nc6.
2. ...Nf6. I would play Nc3, but Nf3 and Bg5 are both perfectly playable options.
2. ...g6. Seize the center with c4 and transpose into a King's Indian Defense.
2. ...b6. Highly unlikely, since the light-square bishop already has the c8-h3 diagonal, bout could happen. Probably play 3. c4 and 4. Nc3
2. ...Nc6. Blocks in c5, but is otherwise playable. It does give White many options, though. We could be greedy and play 3. d5, strengthen the center with 3. c4, develop with either knight, or pin the knight with 3. Bb5.

a) 2...Nf6 3.Nf3? and 3.Bg5? lose a pawn to 3...Ne4. I assume you meant 3.f3 for the first line.
b) 2...b6?! 3.c4 Bb7 4.Nc3 and 2...Nc6?! 3.d5 Ne5 4.f4 are both excellent for White - probably +/- with best play.
c) Your idea of 3.c4 in answer to 2...g6 is quite good, although note that after 3...Bg7 4.Nc3/Nf3 Black does not have to transpose to the King's Indian with 4...Nf6 - instead he can keep play within the channels of the Averbakh Variation with (in no particular order) 4...e5, 4...Nd7, 4...Nc6 or 4...c6.

Oh, yeah. Duh. I stand corrected. 3. f3 and 3. Nd2 are inferior to Nc3, but are still playable. Ish.
2. ...Nc6 3. d5 Ne5 4. f4 is more of an Alekhine's Defense. Whether that's good for White or not is debatable, but I would prefer White in said position.

Space Chess moves 2. ...Nf6
It was posted on their forum, so I thought I'd post it here too

I vote 3. Nc3, there really isn't anything else to consider.

Nc3 makes sense. Nd2 blocks in our bishop, f3 weakens our kingside, and just about anything else loses our e-pawn.
I vote Nc3

3.Bd3 is another serious possibility, quietly playing for a small edge with Nf3, c3 and 0-0.
However, I vote for 3.Nc3 as well. The key question then is whether we go for the Austrian Attack, Classical Variation, 150 Attack or something else against the Pirc.

3 Nc3 is also my vote. I prefer the Austrian, but let's see if they opt for 3...g6, 3...c6 or even 3...e5 (transposing to the Philador).
