I used to be a chess head when I was younger, but my interest dropped after I found few opponents as I was growing up. My interest has been rekindled and I've been starting to play online. White or Black doesn't matter to me, I'm just interested in a long-term correspondence game with someone that is willing to discuss the moves with me as we go along. I can wait for you to ask about a move. I can comment my moves after your reply. Would you like me to talk about the plan I'm working toward? Do you want to know the tactics I see? I'm an intermediate level player, do you care if some of the better players comment during our game?

I'm not particularly sure, perhaps if we could comment on things a move or two behind to give some insight into what we're thinking, so as to keep the game as genuine as possible. If either of us knows what our plans are ahead of time, we would adjust our play to protect specifically against things. Also, if other members of the forum want to analyze and comment, that would be fantastic.

Move order preference I think. I know some people who play this way to avoid nasty e4-lines in the dutch defense.

Nice to see people commenting. As I'm fairly new to the game, what does the French defense involve? Is it the e6 and d5 pawns? Chess theory astonishes me, I love how there are simple or elaborate names for nearly every chess opening that exists.
