Either way it's rated at GM status, but it isn't perfect, and it won't have "preferences". Maybe it takes with the N first because the bishop can exert some pressure on the e pawn? Maybe it figures since black has a black bishop, it wants one too. Who knows, there must be a reason, but it might not make much sense in the grand scheme of things.
