Board moves to FEN software?

Sorry if the title is a bit confusing, but I'm wondering if there's any chess software that will allow me to make moves on a chessboard and save them to PGN and/or FEN?

My idea is to be able to copy the notation from some of my chess books by making the moves on a board instead of typing out the moves in Notepad.

Chessmaster GE will, but it's a bit big for my flash drive at 2.5 gigs, so I'm looking for something a little bit smaller.

I used chesspad for saving stuff as pgn. I'm not sure if it does fen, but it might.

Most modern chess programs provide support for FEN and allow you to copy or paste FEN positions.
There are also some websites that perform this function. The clever programmers at Lokasoft have developed an interface to the Nalimov Endgame Tablebase which allows you to set up positions for endgame analysis. A handy side-effect of their program is that it shows you the FEN for any position you set-up

Chesspad is the best for simple, small, and effective replaying of games. SCID is my second choice, as it is larger and more complex.
