I really cannot understand this FICS that is good, but after 15 adjourned games you cannot play. i have adjourned no one games. Opponent has. But to get rid of them seem to be impossible. There is just no instructions. So you canno tplay. And after all this FICS is really unbelievable complicated.

If there wasn't a limit, then an unscrupulous player could just adjourn any game he was losing and hence never lose. I think 15 is more than enough. For any games that are adjourned, first try to contact the opponent to resume the game. If you are losing any games consider resigning, or offer a draw or abort in even games. If your opponents don't reply within a week, you can message the adjudicate account, instructions are available from 'help adjudicate'. Hope that helps.

***I have never adjourned or aborted. In my opinion that adjourning by opponents is like crimanl work! They cause harm to me. I cannot understand why FICS allow that! There is no need for adjourning!! Opponent can vanish when he/or she will and never come back! Hell! I am trying to do something do something... (then there is many players on many sites who do not continue to play but neither resign..only vanish...!!!)

If you don't want your opponents to be allowed to adjourn a game, type "set noescape 1", then add it to your search formula for finding games. If both players have noescape set to 1 when the game starts, then any disconnect will be considered an automatic forfeit, rather than an adjournment.

Is this still the case?!! I just started using FICS and BabasChess and was testing it out and did the Adjourn several times. They should give you a warning!! Or display it prominently on the FICS website!! What new person wouldn't think adjourning was a good thing to do when they see it (not even thinking about using it for some disreputable purpose)?
