NEW: Fen Tool!
ChessForums.org now has a handy FEN-Tool to add diagrams to your posts!
When you post a reply, you'll see a new icon next to the usual FEN-icon to insert FEN-tags:
When you click that button, a new window will pop up where you can setup a position on a board. You can insert pieces by first clicking the piece on the right (so the background of the piece turns yellow) and then clicking anywhere on the board. To clear a square, just double-click the square. When you're done, just click "Finished!", and the required code is automatically entered in the message box for the reply!
If you want to be able to view the position in a chess program, you also have to specify which sides can castle, and whose turn it is (by clicking the checkboxed on the right). For displaying diagrams on this forum however, you don't need to check or uncheck those checkboxes. For now, positions are displayed the same, whether it's white or black to move, and whether white and black can castle or not.
If you have any questions, or if you found a bug, you can ask in this thread.

Excellent! When I have a little time later, I've got a game or two that I played recently and wanted to share here, so this will give me a way to easily diagram them as I go. I look forward to trying it out.

I just tried it, and it doesn't work for me. It brought up the window, and I was able to modify the position, but I don't see a "save" button to insert it into the post once I've got the position I want. Closing the window didn't save it either.
I think the problem might be the size of the window (which can't be resized), as I can see what appears to be the tops of three buttons along the bottom of the window, but they're cut off, so I can't get to them. Maybe just making the pop-up window for this bigger or resizable would solve the problem.
I'm using Mozilla Firefox 2.0.0.3 on Windows XP SP2, if that matters.

Bummer. You can't resize but then you can't even drag that pop-up window a bit higher up either? The tops of the three buttons you see are for clear board/reset/reverse and the save(Finished) button is even lower than those(bottom right corner).

That shouldn't be a problem. The popup is a fixed size, so a fixed width and a fixed height. The only way that the buttons would not be viewable is if your screen resolution has a height of less than 500 pixels... which I highly doubt.
Could you send me (or add here) a screenshot of what you see when you click the button? You can use the PrintScreen button on most keyboards (located right of F12), and then open Paint, and press Ctrl + V, and save it.
FinFangFoom, are you having the same problems?

I figured out what the problem is. I keep my default font size slightly larger than most people, so the contents of the window were a little larger than they would be for most people, even though the window size is the same. So it didn't all fit. By shrinking the font inside that window just a little bit, I can see the whole thing.
Isn't there an easy way you could make the window size modifyable, though, instead of forcing it to stay the default size?

I'm fine, I was just checking in with Fromper until you could come to the rescue. It worked a-ok for me on my quickie test.

Greg has fixed the "problem" now, so it should also work fine for Fromper now. I've been working on a new version though, which is bugfree now I think. It has the same functions as this one, but one extra feature. I'll PM Greg about it, and maybe you can use it too soon
