ok so since im a beginner ive been mostly studying the games of paul morphy, who always played 1.e4 and who i see play the king's gambit nearly every game. i was wondering which players tended to favor the blackmar-diemer, if any, since i tend to play it every chance i get.

Just another move order to achieve this gambit, incase you havnt thought about it.

1.e4 d5 2.d4!?

I find this an interesting line that could catch some unprepared Scandinavian players of guard. Since the line is printed in a different section to ''Scandinavian'' in NCO they probably never thought about it or looked at it since its given under ''1.d4 d5'' then sideline is 2.e4. They probably dont play 1...d5 in response to 1.d4 either, so worth having in the repetoire if needed for occasional use.

Line is something like:
1.e4 d5 2.d4 (alternative move order) dxe4 3.Nc3 Nf6 4.f3 exf3 5.Nf3 e6 6.Bd3 c5 7.Be3 cxd4 8.Nxd4 Be7 9.0-0 or something similar at least. thats off the top of my head after some alcohol and second hand fumes!
