I lack experience vs. the Sicilian
It seems like I get crushed and crushed by the Sicilian on Yahoo Chess.
What should I do against it if I go...
E2-E4
And he moves his bishop pawn up 2 spaces?
I am rather newbie at chess, but I have played strategy games before and understand offense+mapcontrol (in chess's case, the middle 4 squares)

Classically, Nf3 and d4 are called for, fighting for the center. Just concentrate on getting all your pieces out and castling quick, the Sicilian can be mean .

Which bishop pawn would that be? The c-pawn or the f-pawn?
One is suicidal, the other completely sound. I'm not even going to bother going into the Fred defense.
The Sicilian though is one of those things you should be expecting (and in part aiming for) with white as e4 advocate.
You can't start worrying about your opponent's defense at move 2! My advice is to pick up something like the Alapin (1. e4 c5 2. c3 or its deferred variety 1. e4 c5 2. Nf3 ... 3. c3). It's fairly straightforward, make a classical center (c3-d4-e4), hold it and make it work for you. Your opponent can gain near-equality without much difficulty but it's solid and leaves room for aggression.
In any case, don't play into open Sicilian territory. I don't think you'd be ready for it.

Just use pawnstorm against Black's Kingside. If you have a Yahoo ID, just play with me in the Yahoo Messenger. I'll PM you my e-mail.

i like that "pawnstorm", i havent heard it that way before but i wouldnt do it on the kingside unless i was going to castle solidly on the queenside, which would be a problem because black has strength on the queenside then. but im still kinda fresh so im not sure on fighting the sicilian yet.

I play the Smith-Morra Gambit: 1. e4 c5 2. d4 cxd4 3. c3 dxc3 4. Nxc3. Google the name (it's sometimes just called the Morra Gambit) and you'll get a ton of info on it.

That's a horrible under-statement. The Smith-Morra seems sound (Karpov even said it was alright!), but with proper play black can sustain a fine position a pawn up. With this in mind, Sicilian players will generally learn a small amount of theory on this variation, thus taking away the surprise value (which alot of unsound gambits rely on, for example: Latvian, Blackmar-Diemer, Elephant, and the fascinating Halloween Gambit). Secondly, when I play a gambit, I want open files directed to my opponents king. White's open c-file won't help him at all with this, as black never castles queenside in the Sicilian. Since white's c-file, and black's c-file are both open, white won't be castling queenside either, so it can be harder to throw a pawn storm at your opponent's king. Yet white still gets good play, even with these things considered.

For me, I am still learning about the Sicilian and its variations. I am not that familiar to go against it as white, therefore I play the Smith-Morra Gambit, because I don't want to face a variation which I am not familiar with.
With black, I play the Sicilian, and of course, I scowl at anti-Sicilians..
