Hey guys, i thought it would be cool to have a thread of surprise lines and quirky lines in differnt openings. Just bits and bobs/shortcuts etc. Some of us may recognise some of them, but there maybe some people seeing these for the first time. Dont really want to go into too much detail of them but at the same time, i dont mean a thread of a list of openings! for example like 1.e4 e5 2.Nf3 f5 = Latvian Gambit. So try give specific lines i guess. Here is a few i find interesting. Hope some people find this a good idea for blitz but also serious games.

-this line is really worth taking a look at especially for Normal dragon players to see the difference between Normal, and Accelerated (black missing ...d6). However also relevant to ''Yugoslav attack maniacs'', who seemingly just reem these white moves off without considering what type of dragon they are up against, this black line can be a right slap in the face for them!

I don't think I'm supposed to go into your lines, but I couldn't let it slide.

Some of my stuff:
Sicilian Defense - Chekhover Variation
1. e4 c5 2. Nf3 d6 3. d4 cxd4 4. Qxd4 Nc6 5. Bb5 Bd7 6. Qd3.
I play the Chekhover proper most the time, 6. Bxc6 is the line here. But, since the queen goes to d3 anyway (at least that is one of my 3 plans for it) I don't mind keeping the bishop around a while longer. Most black players let me actually (not recommended).

King's Gambit - Falkbeer Countergambit - Tartakower Variation
1. e4 e5 2. f4 d5 3. Nf3
I don't use the KG all that often anymore, but this variation is something I use against those FCG types that think defending the KG is easy. An odd detail is that I use the Nimzowitsch Variation of the FCG, but I know how to handle 3. Nf3, which isn't that good.

Ruy Lopez - Modern Steinitz Defense
1. e4 e5 2. Nf3 Nc6 3. Bb5 a6 4. Ba4 d6 5. O-O g5
Okay, I don't claim it's any good whatsoever, I treat it as a junk line. The irritation factor is pretty high. Normally I will play 5. ... Bg4 6. h3 h5

I definitely have more stuff around, but that's the goofier part of it.

well, im not 'one of those' as i dont play this. But it should be included in the thread!
By the way, soundness is not really a factor of the lines, obviously have to be somewhat related to specific opening though.
