One of my Chess computers kept playing the Albin. I asked Chessville for advice, and was given avoid playing e3.
Fine gives 4. Nf3 as the correct response.
Lasker played against the Albin: against Albin at NY 1893.
As Black, Lasker played the Albin against Hodges at Cambridge Springs 1903. Another example, Lasker as White, Alekhine played the Gambit against Lasker at St. Pete 1914. The Gambit was not played.
