At the age of 64, a number familiar to chess players.

I usually just avoid this topic among chess players, as I know it'll start a fight, but am I the only one who truly despised Bobby Fischer?

I don't care if he was one of the greatest chess players of all time. The guy was a grade A jack***. Between his anti-semitic prejudice (against his own heritage!), his comments after 9/11, and his childish behavior throughout his career, I just can't understand how anyone can have any respect left for the man.

Happy birthday, King of Chess!

I agree that he wasn't one to admire in non-chess areas of his life, but I would like to remember his great contributions to the game. He was a troubled man who lashed out at everyone. It's a shame, but he left us a legacy not to be forgotten.

RIP Bobby. You're still fondly remembered.

Also, Bobby Fischer has a daughter, Jinky, who lives in the Philippines.
