His peer Magnus Carlsen seems to have finally taken some distance over Karjakin though

True, but the Carlsen Camp itself is a juggernaut, a publicity powerhouse. Karjakin has none of this, and has received nowhere near the support.
The heavywieghts of the blogosphere have, it appears, paid little or no attention to him, though everytime Carlsen appears in public, it's treated as a photo-op, and a chance for them to align themselves with the "Popular Kid".
Personally, I have the greatest respect for the young prodigies, including of course Fabiano Caruana, (Who is a personal friend of Karjakin's.) Akobian, who is only 24 years old and who, as I recall, was only a half point off of the US Championship at 18. I think that the style of play is exciting. And that they provide what has been missing in chess, since perhaps Fischer.
Talent needs representation and guidance to fully flower. I look forward to seeing Karjakin come into his own, then I think that the confidence which will grow as a result will allow him to play even stronger.
Should be interesting to watch it unfold....

I agree, the attention devoted to Carlsen compared that to Karjakin is ridiculous. They're both nearing the very top of the long chess ladder and Karjakin is almost completely ignored..

The plot thickens, I was just asked to sponsor a match between Carlsen and Karjakin, by Karjakins supporters!
We are sponsoring GM Akobian at this years US Championship, plus what we are planning to sponsor GM Kamsky with, so I will have to look closely at budget....
BTW, tonight between 6 and 8 pm pst GM Akobian will be giving lesson on 4. Bg5. Will edit and post tomorrow for CF members.
Thanks to everyone at chessforums.org for the support.

Ahh that'll be about time...
Oh and planetchess, I just took a peek at that page you PMed, looks good. Though, if I would be using that, I might like the option to skip ahead/go back (or pause or something)

Installed advanced menu control yesterday, maybe the old version is cached in browser?
Cheers!

Possibly. Addresses my main criticism at least. Something minor though, the chesspieces may be a little too simplified; all in all it's a decent way to display lectures to the public.

Thank you again, for the feedback, they are already a VERY popular feature of the site. I agree on the simplified pieces, though harmony is not easy to come by in animation..
We've finished editing this week's lesson from Monday, it's on the home of you know where, will bring to the CF fans, asap.
This one's from an actual game, GM Ganguly vs. GM Akobian Doeberl Cup 08' Nothing compares to leading by example. Next lesson will be GM Shabalov vs. GM Akobian, The Master of the French will show us how he beat a true great with it. (05' World Open?)
Pillow's calling my name..
