I progressed to midlle game fairly well IMHO
Entering the end game phase 2 pawns behind I was initially dodging his attack, but seeing a potential two move checkmate 28. Nd8 (anything but a pawn move) 29. Re8# I pushed on the attack but black saw it coming, 28. ... g6 saving him

28.Nd8 got a ! because I thought this demonstrated the speed and power of my counter attack

Suddenly everything clicked and I saw the mate (moves 32 -> end 1-0)

I thought 11. Qg5! was a good attacking move showing I was happy trading off queens (a bluff where I pretended I was competent in the use of minor pieces )

I'd like comments espescially on the end of my openning, i.e. 7 onwards and the middle game,

Also, I dont know how to use the engine in chessbase, so if somebody could engine it and see if I missed any mates earlier

Think I'll start a standard disclaimer for my analysis and post it above my analysis, something like this perhaps:

I analyse the game, not the players, so any criticism is for the move, not the player. I'll try to give some ideas and a likely 'best-play' line when I'm question-marking a move. I pick out the moves I think are (most) relevant. Comments and questions are welcome.

On to the game:

1. e4 e5 2. Nf3 Nc6 3. Bc4 Bc5 4. c3 Nf6 5. d4 exd4 6. cxd4 Bb4+ 7. Bd2 Bxd2+ 8. Qxd2?
Theory continues here 8. Nbxd2 which doesn’t immediately drop the e4-pawn and force white to move the queen again. The correct way to continue for black: 8. … Nxe4 9. Qe3 d5 10. Bxd5 Qxd5 11. Nc3 Qc4 12. Qxe4+ Be6 with an advantage worth a smile. Also worth considering, but not as good, is 8. … 0-0 immediately.
8. … d5 9. exd5 Nxd5 10. Bxd5?
Inaccurate, 10. 0-0 is preferable here. A later plan involving Ne5 would force the knight to b6 keeping more pressure on black’s position; Bxd5 isn’t a blunder by any means though.
10. … Qxd5 11. Qg5??
Bad move. Best is probably 11. Nc3 Qe6+ 12. Qe3, also possible is 11. 0-0 but that’s an admission of failure at this point. Most accurate for black would be the straightforward 11. … Qxg5 12. Nxg5 Nd4 13. Na3 Bf5 14. 0-0-0 0-0-0 an extra pawn, a knight/bishop vs two knights and a somewhat clumsy piece arrangement for white, this is a won game. 11. … Be6 is perfectly good but isn’t a neck shot.
11. … Be6 12. O-O O-O?
Black’s time for a lemon. He should take the queen, 12. … Qxg5 13. Nxg5 0-0-0 and have his advantage, instead, he tosses it away!
13. Qxd5?
Against principle, you’re exchanging while you’re a pawn down. As a rule, you should keep pieces on in such situation, especially the queen! This cements black’s positional advantage.
13. … Bxd5 14. Nc3 Bxf3 15. gxf3?
You missed a neat shot here. 15. d5! which should give you drawing chances at least.
15. … Nxd4 16. Rad1 Nxf3+?
The f3-pawn isn’t relevant at this point. Black shouldn’t capture, but it’s understandable and not the end of the world or his winning game, c5 was better.
17. Kg2 Ne5 18. Nd5 c6?
Inaccuracy, 18. … Rad8 is better, active rooks are better than having pawns in endgames. A simple sequence like 18 … Rad8 19. Nxc7 Nd3 20. b3 Rd7 intending Rfd8 is the way to go, but c6 gets the job done in the end. It does allow 19. Ne7+ giving some squares to white, who is still lost after that however. 19. Nc7 is a bit of a mistake at any rate. From here on, black’s advantage keeps growing.
19. Nc7? Rad8 20. Rxd8 Rxd8 21. Re1 f6 22. f4 Ng6 23. f5 Ne5 24. Ne6 Rd2+ 25. Kf1 Nf3 26. Re3 Nxh2+ 27. Ke1 Rxb2 28. Nd8 g6 29. Re8+ Kg7 30. Ne6+ Kh6 31. fxg6 hxg6??
Horrible blunder! Black has a completely winning game and throws it away with a howler like hxg6.

White wins and really shouldn't have.
