I am new to this forum and am hoping that someone will be able to help me identify a certain beginners book from the 1970's (no earlier than the late 1960's anyway).
The book, as I recall, is a coffee table sized hardcover book, printed in portrait format and written for beginners. The book is illustrated in a manner that one might expect for an Alice in Wonderland story, e.g., the pieces are drawn as living creatures. The book describes basic chess play as well as simply tactics such as pin, fork, skewer, etc. It is a wonderful book to stimulate the imagination of a young child. I last recall seeing the book in 1977 or 1978.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you!
Greg
