I've been to my local book store (Hastings) and the only chess books they have as far as I can tell are by Bill Robertie and they only have 2 of his books Begininning Chess Play and Winning Chess Openinings are the Bill robertie books any good or should I just go to the internet to find books?


They also have chess for dummies but I'd consider myself to be a Complete idiot and not a dummy

If that's all you have available, I'd say head to the internet. I don't know if he's a good author, as I don't have any of his books, but I've also never seen his books recommended. I'd tend to stick with books that come well reviewed by some of the well respected chess teachers on the web (head to chesscafe.com and jeremysilman.com for reviews) rather than taking chances on an unknown.
