If that's all you have available, I'd say head to the internet. I don't know if he's a good author, as I don't have any of his books, but I've also never seen his books recommended. I'd tend to stick with books that come well reviewed by some of the well respected chess teachers on the web (head to chesscafe.com and jeremysilman.com for reviews) rather than taking chances on an unknown.
