My chess day, with a friend is usually, on Fridays. This week, extraordinarily, we transfered it to today, because I had a possible birthday party tomorrow (which won't happen, but, anyway ..).

I'm also searching for other nearby chess pals, maybe for us to gather on the same place and time ... It might be fun, and useful, once I need a lot of practice, and .. I don't get along well with computer ones. (Not because of being difficult, but because I like to enjoy the human being interaction in chess, not only the game in itself. To me, the interaction is inherent part of the game ... Of course, I'm a beginner. I hope it'll change, in time.)

(I also like the putting the hand on the pieces and board. It gets more .. chess. Too bad my father gave up ... He doesn't play anymore. I think he got old, and he isn't the kind of guy who searches for wisdom. Chess has to do with wisdom, somehow. With war ... With thinking, no doubt.)

Mine are Thursdays and Fridays - that's when the local clubs meet. Unfortunately, it's only for 5 0 chess, and I'm pretty slow, but I agree with you that touching the pieces is awesome. So much cooler than moving with a mouse. Besides, nobody thinks yer cheaing then LOL!

Where do you guys meet in the Yucaipa area? Eventually I'll make it back to Redlands to visit family. Perhaps I could stop by.

I play almost every Saturday at the local club. Other than that, I play online sporadically on various days of the week.

I have no set day that I play chess on, as my schedule is sporadic from week to week. I play online every once in a while (should be playing more), but I find free time every so often to study and try to learn something new.

I usually play slow rated games on Thursday at the local club -- great fun! (Although I've been on hiatus recently due to work)

Hi! The best night is probably Friday night because we are able to play until any ridiculous hour we wish. It's at a Denny's in Colton, just outside Fontana/Rialto area on Valley Blvd.

Yeah, I prefer OTB, too. As far as I'm concerned, all those internet games are really just practice for USCF tourneys.
